Let's Talk About Race

Join us for a conversation about the complexities of racism. Learn about how it's so interwoven in our lives, that we don't even notice it. Each session will feature a different speaker and focus on a different area.
Come to 1, 2, or 3! Pre-registration required.
All sessions will be from 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Session 1: Wednesday, May 17
Celebrity stylist Davon “FVVME” Williams will talk about how racism plays a role not only in pop culture but in things that we see in stores, on TV commercials, and that what is actually in our neighborhoods and not in our neighborhoods as far as things to buy and brands that we get to choose from.
Session 2: Wednesday, May 24
Violence intervention/prevention specialist Juan Carter will join us to discuss the role that nonviolence plays in diversity equity and inclusion and how they all tie together and the role they play in our communities.
Session 3: Wednesday, May 31
Financial coach Dwayne Keys will discuss how racism affects housing and marginalized communities and Pilar McCloud will close out the series by tying all that has been discussed together along with some other things to think about and bring back to our communities.

Registration is required and space is limited to 50 participants per session.

There is no fee for this program but donations to offset costs are welcome.
